Abstract

Deductive reasoning is an essential technique of argumentation. Phantasy represents one
of the most salient rhetorical topics, which maximizes the significance of images and its
mental representation. Reasoning depends greatly on the logicality of discourse,
specifically with regard to the context of inducement and assumption. The mastery of the
discourse creator and his ability to employ imagination properly results in the productivity
of multifarious types of assumptions. Thus, the focus of the present study is to achieve the
following objectives:
Focusing on the poetry content as a convincing technique attached to one’s intellect;
the existence of argumentation in poetry; casting light on the most important rhetorical
strategies adopted by a poet to make his poetry effective; finding out the most intellectual
issues much related to phantasy; and, finally, the possibility of using the modern methods
of rhetoric in ancient literature. Accordingly, the researcher and others highly recommend
divulging some topics pertinent to traditional poetry through the use of rhetorical tools.
Additionally, much attention should be directed to the Arabic rhetoric, which is not only
considered a device of creating ideas and opinions but also is regarded as a means of its
defense and inducement.
